How to convert MIDI to MP3

Upload MIDI

Import a standard .mid or .midi file into Studio.

Choose instruments

Pick the sound bank that best fits your music in Settings.

Render your performance

Export MP3 directly, or enhance the performance with Stable Audio 3 first.

Choose a faithful MIDI render or a more natural performance

Convert MIDI directly to MP3

A MIDI file stores notes and performance instructions, not recorded sound. A SoundFont supplies the instrument samples. Choose one in Settings, then open Render and select MP3. This path follows the original notes, tempo, velocity, and timing.

Make generated MIDI sound more realistic

Stable Audio 3 is a generative audio model. It reinterprets rigid SoundFont playback as a more natural recording, with added articulation, dynamics, timbre, and room texture. Edit its settings if needed, then press Start Model Execution in the Enhance tab. Open Render and select MP3 when processing finishes.

Amazing tool for audio. Clean, simple, and effective. I would spend hours in RX to get the same results. Give it a try. I can save you hours of production time.

I love the interface. I love the bulk upload/download features. They’re a life saver! Also I just realized that Apollo is magic and I don’t even need to use denoise. Apollo somehow removes noise much more naturally. So I’m actually spending way less credits than I expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a MIDI file to high-quality MP3 online?
Upload a .mid or .midi file, choose a SoundFont in Settings, and preview the performance. For a direct conversion, open Render and choose MP3. To make the performance more natural first, select Stable Audio 3 in Enhance, press Start Model Execution, and export the finished version from Render.
How can I make generated MIDI sound like a realistic performance?
Start with a SoundFont that matches the instruments in the MIDI file. You can then run the rendered performance through Stable Audio 3 to add more natural articulation, dynamics, timbre, and room sound before exporting it as MP3.
Which SoundFont should I use when converting MIDI to MP3?
The best SoundFont depends on the instruments and style of the MIDI file. Open Settings to compare MuseScore General, GeneralUser GS, and TimGM6mb, then preview the MIDI before rendering. Changing the SoundFont changes the instrument sounds without changing the MIDI notes.
What is Stable Audio 3, and why use it on generated MIDI?
Stable Audio 3 is a generative audio model. It can reinterpret a rigid or synthetic SoundFont render as a more natural recording with improved expression and texture. After uploading, keep Stable Audio 3 selected in Enhance and press Start Model Execution. You can edit its settings before processing.
Does converting MIDI to MP3 preserve the original notes and timing?
A direct SoundFont render follows the MIDI notes, tempo, velocity, and timing. Stable Audio 3 is generative, so it can change small musical or sonic details while making the result sound more natural. Use the direct MP3 render when exact MIDI playback matters most.
How do I get the best audio quality from a MIDI-to-MP3 conversion?
Choose the most suitable SoundFont in Settings, preview the instruments, and adjust the mixer effects before export. If the playback still sounds synthetic, process it with Stable Audio 3 and compare the enhanced version with the original MIDI render before downloading the MP3.
