Can I turn a piano recording into sheet music?
To turn a piano recording into sheet music, first transcribe the audio with the piano-to-MIDI tool. Upload a solo piano recording or paste a supported recording link, run Piano to MIDI with Transkun V2 in Studio, then download the MIDI file. Import that file into notation software such as MuseScore. The transcription contains detected notes, timing, velocities and pedal controls; it does not export a finished sheet music PDF. Review note errors, rhythmic notation, hand assignment and score layout in your notation editor before printing or sharing.
Why does a piano-to-MIDI transcription have extra or missing notes?
A piano-to-MIDI transcription can contain extra or missing notes when background instruments, heavy reverb, noise or a quiet piano part make pitches difficult to distinguish. Transkun is designed for piano, so use a clean solo piano recording in the piano-to-MIDI transcriber. Compare the MIDI playback with the original and correct note errors in your DAW. If the recording contains several instruments, use MuScriptor for multi-instrument transcription or isolate a piano stem before running Transkun. Stem separation can help, but remaining bleed and separation artifacts can still affect the notes.
