Transcribe audio to MIDI

Turn a full song into separate, editable bass, drum, vocal, and instrument MIDI parts. The pipeline separates the mix first, then transcribes every stem with MuScriptor.

Use stem-to-MIDI for full songs

Overlapping instruments in a stereo mix can create missing or extra notes. Transcribe Stems to MIDI isolates bass, drums, vocals, and other instruments before transcription so each part gets its own MIDI version. The stem guide explains how those rows are created and reviewed.

Run the MIDI pipeline

  1. Open Pipelines and select Transcribe Stems to MIDI.
  2. Leave the imported file selected as the source unless you intentionally want to transcribe another version.
  3. Choose whether the Bass and Other stems should each be combined into one instrument, then set note quantization.
  4. Review the estimate and choose Start Pipeline.

Choose the yellow MIDI version

Each completed stem gets a yellow MIDI entry in its version menu. The waveform becomes a piano roll with instrument-colored notes. The Before / After slider compares the source stem with the synthesized MIDI playback.

Choose a yellow MIDI version to inspect its notes in the piano roll and compare its synthesized playback with the source stem.

Download one part or a multitrack MIDI

  1. Use the download button on a MIDI stem row to save that part as a .mid file.
  2. For one multitrack file, select the MIDI version on each stem, open Export, choose Combined Stems, and select MIDI.
  3. Open the downloaded file in a DAW, piano roll, or notation application to edit notes and instruments.
